interface development
My perspective:
The successful design and development of a flash user interface or a UI for an application/site requires an adherence to a formal process in order to avoid undue complications. Ideally, the process of building an application/site is initiated after the completion of the information architecture and the feedback from user testing has been collected and analyzed. In order to organize the steps, resources, and interdependencies for each task, I generally work with MS Project.
Optimally, the user interface development phase of a project should contain the following steps:
- Defining the scope of the work involved based on client specifications and project documentation
- Developing functional prototypes based on wireframes from task analysis and use case scenarios
- Designing graphic elements and page schematics, gathering available copy
- Coding of user interface and integration with back-end application
- Final approval, changes and execution
